Richard Taglienti, Sr.

The year was 1979, the energy crisis continued and the opportunity to purchase Rogers Insulation Co., Inc. was provided.  I was in various construction-based businesses all my life including my formative years in Newton watching my father and uncles in the home building industry.  Fast forward 40 years later with a well-established community-based business and very fortunate to have my two sons and daughter-in-law guiding the business.  Now, semi-retired I spend my time in Massachusetts and Florida with my companion, Pat.

I grew up in the insulation business working with the installation crews during high school and college.  After college I joined RISE Engineering managing the installation of energy conservation measures for Bay State Gas’ commercial and industrial customers.  I also worked for several large regional gas and electric utility companies in a variety of leadership roles.  In 2008 I moved back to Massachusetts where I reunited with my father and brother, John, in the family insulation business.  I currently serve on the Board of Directors of the Better Business Bureau and previously served on the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross.  I hold a Commonwealth of Massachusetts Construction Supervisors license and live in Shrewsbury with my wife, Sharon, and our two Golden Retrievers, Java and Tango.

Growing up I was very fortunate to be a part of my family business.  My career in the construction business began at the age of sixteen and it continued through my life – including weekends and holidays while in college. My father was a firm believer in that I learn everything about the business along the way.  I started out at the bottom and climbed the ladder as they say overtime.  Today, with over 30 years in the industry, I am fully qualified to help our customers with their projects.  Whether it be to solve a unique insulation problem or a full window and siding replacement project, I can put my experience to good use. I am proud of my Construction Supervisor License through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  I am certified as a Building Analyst and Building Envelope Professional through the highly respected Building Performance Institute (BPI). My wife, Carol, is the office manager and our family dog, Rocco, is the company mascot.

In 1998 my family and I moved to the Boston area where I transitioned and built a new career and reputation in the home improvement business. My home improvement sales experience combined with my team and project management skills were well known by the company owners and it was clear to all of us that from the beginning that I would be a perfect fit for Rogers Insulation as they began their plans to expand the company. “Timing is everything” as they say, and in 2010 it was official when I signed on as Home Improvement Sales and Project Manager. Over the past eight years, with the help of the best installers in the business, I worked hard to help the company grow and to be recognized as a unique business with the rare ability to both improve energy performance and to beautify the “exterior envelope of the home” with their four major home improvement products.

John and I got married in 1993 and have two wonderful twin daughters – Lindsey & Haley.  In 2005 I started working part-time at Rogers Insulation as the office manager, eventually going full time when the girls started elementary school.  I enjoy hanging with my family and friends and love being able to bring our dog, Rocco, to the office with me every day.

I started my journey at Rogers Insulation in May of 2016. When you call, I’m usually the voice on the other end of the phone. I am a well-organized administrative assistant. In the workplace I am highly approachable, have a pleasant attitude and a willingness to make a positive impact. My personal interests include crafting, all things New England Revolution soccer, eating chocolate, drinking Hpnotiq, and spending time with my husband and our two children.
